Shaping the Ride: RTD Invites Denver Transit Riders to Have Their Say on 2027 Routes.

DENVER — Whether your daily commute relies on the quiet hum of a morning light rail or a dependable cross-town bus connection, the transit routes crisscrossing the Denver metro area are getting a fresh look — and transit planners want your input before any blueprints are finalized.

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) is launching a series of virtual public feedback sessions focused on proposed service changes slated to roll out on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027.

For thousands of everyday commuters, transit schedule adjustments are never just administrative tweaks on a spreadsheet — they shape school drop-offs, job shifts, weekend errands, and late-night rides home. Recognizing the real-world impact of every route shift, RTD is giving riders a direct line to the people drawing the maps.

Direct Access: “Ask a Service Planner”

Rather than standard formal presentations, RTD’s upcoming sessions feature interactive “Ask a Service Planner” forums designed for 1-on-1 dialog. Riders can chat directly with transit schedulers, ask detailed questions about specific neighborhood lines, and discover the practical reasoning behind proposed modifications.

The proposed slate of January 2027 updates covers everything from schedule adjustments and route optimizations to potential restorations and connections aligned with RTD’s broader System Optimization Plan.

Can’t Make the Live Meetings?

If you can’t join live, RTD has set up an interactive online survey dashboard where riders can review proposed map changes and submit written comments through Thursday, Oct. 29. Feedback can also be emailed directly to Service.Change@rtd-denver.com or shared by calling RTD Customer Care at 303-299-6000.
