After an engaging two months between the City of Aurora and members of the community, the Aurora’s Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department in conjunction with Sasaki Associates will be hosting a public open house event. about the project.
The open house will be hosted from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, Thursday, Sept. 22, at Moorhead Recreation Center, 2390 Havana Street. The planning process is organized around the five key themes of equitable access, community connections, health and safety, operational efficiencies and sustainable growth. To create an inclusive environment, there will be opportunities to provide feedback both in-person and virtually.
The open house will include multiple sessions discussing topics such as public feedback received to date, how Aurora’s park system compares to those of other cities, existing environmental conditions and overall access to the system.
Vital information regarding the event will be available in Amharic, English, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and Vietnamese, in addition to interpretation services that will be provided at the open house. Childcare services will also be available for children 3 years old and older while there will also be food trucks on-site and food truck vouchers for participants.
